Travel Checklist – Things to pack for your vacation

Documents

  1. Passport / License (also include copies)
  2. Green card / OCI Card
  3. Printed tickets  – airplane + attractions (or e-ticket / confirmation number)
  4. Itinerary printouts
  5. Airline / Hotel / Car rental contact information saved on your phone as well as paper copies
  6. Cash (in the currency of your destination)
  7. Travel insurance details
  8. Checkbook / Credit cards / Debit cards – If you are going to India and have bank accounts don’t forget to carry your debit/credit cards/checkbooks.

Electronics

  1. Cellphone + Charger
  2. Tablets – iPad / Kindle etc + Charger
  3. Camera + Charger + Tripod + Memory card
  4. Laptop + Charger
  5. iPod + Charger
  6. Converter / Adapters
  7. Electric strip – if you have a lot of devices to charge
  8. Additional battery pack for your electronics

Clothes & Accessories

  1. Shoes/flip flops/dress shoes
  2. Beach items – Beach towels, Swimsuits + coverup
  3. Bath Towel
  4. Undergarments
  5. T-shirts / tops / dresses / jackets
  6. Pants / capris / shorts / skirts / leggings
  7. Pajamas
  8. Accessories – scarves, jewelry, earrings, bangles/ bracelets, Belt + socks
  9. Raincoats, Umbrellas, Winter jackets, Caps / Hat
  10. Sunglasses

Toiletries

  1. Toothbrush + Toothpaste + Floss + Mouthwash
  2. Bath and Body – Shower gel, Body lotion, Deodorant, Vaseline, Chapstick
  3. Hair – Shampoo + Conditioner, Hair straightener/curler, Comb, Hair clips/headbands, Hairspray, Hairdryer (your hotel may provide it)
  4. Feminine products – pantiliners, napkins, tampons etc
  5. Makeup – Q-tips, moisturizer, foundation, mascara, eyeliner, lipstick, concealer, face wash and makeup remover (pads/cotton balls and solution)
  6. Sunscreen + Bug repellent
  7. Razor + Shaving cream
  8. Medications – prescription / non-prescription (headache, fever, allergies),
  9. Prescription glasses, contacts (solutions & case)
  10. Wet tissues + soft tissues (Kleenex) + Sanitizer

For the plane ride

If you are taking an international flight, you might need to pack some additional items for the long haul.

  1. Medications: Prescription meds, Fever /Pain reliever / Allergy (Tylenol/Motrin/Benadryl), Motion sickness (Dramamine), Multivitamins etc.
  2. First aid – Neosporin + Band-aid + Thermometer
  3. Wet tissues + soft tissues (Kleenex) + Sanitizer
  4. Toiletries – Body lotion, toothbrush + toothpaste, Vaseline, Makeup essentials, Comb
  5. Extra clothes – 2 sets for infants, 1 set for kids + adults. Blanket for kids. Extra jacket.
  6. Empty water bottle
  7. Entertainment – Books, games for kids, soft toy. Electronics such as iPad (charger + earbuds), Laptop + Charger
  8. Snacks for kids/ adults – power bars, chopped up fruits, dry cheerios, infant formula for babies, milk for toddlers
  9. Neck Pillow (any other sleeping aid)
  10. Mint / Gum
  11. Infants/toddlers – strollers, car seat, diapers, changing mat, bib, pacifiers, extra diapers/pull-ups. Always carry extra plastic or cloth bags for dirty clothes
  12. Valuables – Make sure to carry your valuables/jewelry in your purse.
  13. Pen(s) – to fill those immigration documents.

Entertainment

  1. Books
  2. Favorite toys + Beach toys (if going to a beach destination)
  3. iPod loaded with favorite music
  4. iPad loaded with movies
  5. Games
